A ₱3 million budget can build a house in the Philippines, but probably not the 80- to 100-square-meter home suggested by older or lower construction estimates.
Based on the Arcadis Philippines Construction Cost Handbook 2026, a more defensible preliminary estimate is approximately 51 to 62 square meters if the entire ₱3 million is reserved for construction.
If the same amount must also cover professional fees, permits, site preparation, contingency, and other project requirements, the realistically buildable floor area may be closer to 40 to 50 square meters.
This does not mean that ₱3 million is insufficient.
It means the project must be defined according to what the budget is expected to cover.
